Keep on rolling with ease!

Many of us roll easily on an e-scooter either occasionally or regularly.

We dash from one place to the next with ease and abandon… perhaps not knowing exactly what the rules are, because the rules of the Highway Code are not clear.

However, the following rule has become clear today:

  • from today, E-rollers must have KGFB insurance.

However, scooters over 14 km/h and over 25 kilograms and scooters over 25 km/h are all weight-independent.

The small size of the wheels and the poor road surfaces in many places make it almost certain that sooner or later everyone will have an accident with this vehicle.

However, compulsory insurance only covers damage caused to others, so it is worthwhile for scooters to take out accident insurance to protect themselves.

Under the current legislation, the scooter user is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is kgfb. It is the scooter owner who must prove this during roadside checks by means of a certificate, either paper or electronic, from the insurance company.

Keep on scooting, but stick to this rule, which can save you a lot of money if things go wrong.

Have a nice day!

Best regards:
